Saint Paul lived in Ephesus for three years teaching people about Jesus Christ. Saint John passed also from Ephesus and he took with him the Virgin Mary, as he was taking care of her, after the death of Jesus Christ. She is said to have lived in a grotto near the ancient city of Ephesus, where she died at the age of 63 years old.

There was also a Bavarian nun, Catherine Emmerich, who had a vision during which she was shown a place where the house of Virgin Mary, where she lived and died at the age of 63, was located as well as the remains .
